These are the traditional craft made up of woodssourced from Chilbil, Mahua, Sheesham, Sal and Haldu woods. It takes a lot of skills and efforts to create such beautiful traditional artwork. This ancient craft is believed to have received great patronage from many kings as well as from the Mughals and British. There is not much information available about the origin of this craft in Varanasi but Varanasi as we all know is synonymous with mysteries.
